Danish Modern sterling silver letter opener. Made by Poul Petersen in Canada, ca 1950. Shepherd’s crook terminal with pendant stylized flower bud widening into flat and pointed blade. A handy desk accessory by the legendary Danish-born silversmith who was Georg Jensen’s apprentice and son-in-law. He married the boss’ daughter Inger in 1922. The couple emigrated to Canada in 1929, where he worked independently and for Birks. Fully marked including maker’s stamp.
