Khmer Ceramic Lime Pot. A globular stoneware jarlet in the form of a bird covered in a caramel color glaze stopping short of the elevated and slightly convex string cut foot displaying the beige biscuit underneath. A owl’s beak and protruding eyes in relief on the shoulder and pinched relief suggesting tail feathers on the opposing side, concentric rings around the mouth of the pot with a slightly everted rim and incised wing decoration on the body.
Condition: Tail feather and base lightly chipped, glaze encrustation through burial, slaked lime deposits on the interior, otherwise good condition.
