A horseshoe back black lacquered wooden armchair from the 20th century with bamboo geometric fretwork and cushion. Created during the 20th century, this armchair features an elegant horseshoe back accented in the center with a stylized radiating star sitting above a bamboo medallion with geometric fretwork, flanked with uneven rings. Strengthened with rattan, the back and arms surround a polygonal wooden seat comprising of a custom cushion (please note that the upholstery is not new). The apron shows a regular rhythm of stick motifs on three of its five sides. Boasting a black patina, the chair is raised on straight feet connected to one another through double side stretchers running along the entire structure. With its horseshoe design, skillfully executed fretwork motifs and complimenting colors, this wood, bamboo and rattan armchair from the 20thcentury will bring an undeniable touch of exotic elegance to any home, perhaps placed in a living room or under a covered patio.
