Nicholas Hamilton Holmesis a sculptor and furniture maker living and working in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. All work is produced in studio.
The main themes of Holmes’ work are traditional methods, and contemporary style. The combination of time tested techniques like handcut joinery or proportional design guarantee that all the work meets a standard of quality higher than most other producers.
This studio prides itself on attention to detail, from the initial sketch to the finished piece–everything is artisan made and crafted.
Sculpture has quickly become a focus of the studio, both in terms of art works, as well as furniture design. Bent, shaped and moulded wood make Holmes’ work both unique and valuable to collectors.
Holmes believes in designing and building work that will last the test of time. The aesthetic that he applies references the foundation of the past, and pushes the contemporary vanguard of the future.
