Description

Antique wooden Burma-Shave advertising sign.

This piece was one of a set of roadside advertising signs produced for Burma-Shave, an early brushless shaving cream. These signs would have been placed along highways and have a series of phrases that together represent the full advertisement.

The reverse side of this sign features a painted-over advertisement for Lucky Strike cigarettes, and despite being covered, the lettering is still legible.
