Early 20th Century Oswald Grill Original Sketch Life Size Nude of Scholar

Design Plus Gallery presents a Life Size Nude Archer with Bow in Frame by Austrian Oswald Grill (1878-1964). The art work is undated but likely from 1905-1910 when the artist was beginning his career in Vienn. As a distinguished artist and teacher he eventually became President of the Vienna House of Artists from 1917-1938. The ‘Life Studies” is that of the nude or seminude model in the academic tradition. These are unusual in the sense that they are 1:1 ratio scale and show the nude in action rather than posing quietly. Is framed in sturdy dark wooden frames under plexiglass.
