Early 20th Century Oswald Grill Original Sketch – Life Size Nude of Scholar

Design Plus Gallery presents a Life Size Nude in Frame by Austrian Oswald Grill (1878-1964). The art work is undated but likely from 1905-1910 when the artist was beginning his career in Vienn. As a distinguished artist and teacher he eventually became President of the Vienna House of Artists from 1917-1938. The ‘Life Studies” is that of the nude or seminude model in the academic tradition. These are unusual in the sense that they are 1:1 ratio scale and show the nude in action rather than posing quietly. Is framed in sturdy dark wooden frames under plexiglass. Purchased in Vienna, Austria. In good antique condition, wear from usage + age.
