An early 20th century industrial pigeon hole storage unit, good size with 48 pigeon holes. The piece is made using steel rods and bolts and is an early example of industrial furniture pre-dating modern methods of welding. In its original (as found) factory colour with remanence of its previous use with numerical markings still visible on some of the compartments.
The item has been thoroughly cleaned and is ready for use, a light wax has been applied to the surface to preserve the patina.
Each compartment has a slight incline so is not fully flat and each compartment measures 140cm (5.5?) wide x 11cm (4.5?) high. Large enough to hold 11 CD’s on their flat so would hold over 500 CD’s.
The unit is free standing but it is recommended to be fixed back to the wall due to its narrow depth.
Please also note that this is an industrial unit and care should be taken when placing/moving on floor surfaces to avoid damage/scratching.
