Antique Zingraff Paris White Mother of Pearl Opera Glasses With Brown Case

These elegant opera glasses were made by Parisian firm Zingraff and are finished in mother of pearl with a brass frame. The glasses come complete with their original leather case. The brass bridge at the center bears the words “ZINGRAFF PARIS”. They display beautifully and look great on a desk or shelf.

Opera glasses were an essential fashion accessory for all theater and opera goers in the late 1800s/early 1900s and were frequently given as gifts.

3.5″ L x 1 3/16″ W x 15/16″ H

Condition:

As an antique item, the piece shows appropriate signs of age consisting of minor oxidation to the brass frame and dust which is present inside the glasses themselves. The central focusing ring is operational and the lenses respond to its use, Mother of pearl appears intact. Case is very fragile and lining has extensive fraying. There is some separation in the back (shown in photo) and snaps also have wear. Please see all photos.
