Antique Mid-Atlantic States Folky Slide Lid Candle Box With an Original Red Wash

A fine antique American candle box.

In pine or fir with its original red paint.

A rectangular candle or table box having a slide lid with carved sides & a thumb slot.

Round nail construction.

Found in Virginia.

Simply a wonderful folky box!

It is in overall good, as-pictured, used estate condition.

Condition Details:
There is checking (or splits from drying) to the base and one side. Otherwise, there is some edge wear, some fine & light surface scratches and other signs of expected light wear consistent with age.
