Beautiful, hand-crafted, French farmhouse milking stools on tripod legs, from the late 50s – early 60s.
Made of solid wood with a rich, dark brown-colored finish tinged with hues of burnt umber, these vintage pieces are unlike other stools, as no nails were used to attach the legs. Instead, they can be inserted, then screwed into place by hand, under the seat.
Pieces are in very good, original and vintage condition, with some light marks, signs of age and previous use commensurate with time, as well as a patina consistent with age use and time, on the overall structures (see photos.) Some small hairline marks on seats, some slightly light faded areas of color on seats, edges and legs, none of which affect their functionality or look, rather, only contribute to their charm (see photos.) The seats have maintained their natural wood grain, and rich, warm, original colors.
Both sturdy, stable and functional, these fantastic, hand-made, rustic pieces of craftsmanship, are perfect to use as originally intended: for sitting, as a foot stool or even as a plant stand.
They have only been gently polished and waxed. with respect to the original patina of time.
Great accent pieces that will blend nicely into any home environment be it French country décor, modern, rustic, mid-century, traditional, rustic contemporary, etc.
Note: All photos taken in natural light, so colors may vary based upon brightness, angles and perspective in which they are viewed.
