Vintage Design
Porcelain with delicate gilding emphasizing the most important lines – trimmings of the girl’s dress and the edges of the lamp’s foot.
The lamps have simple lampshades made of white fabric.
Lamp made according to the design by Józef Szewczyk from 1937. Signed ĆMIELÓW.
It is worth noting that the lamps were preserved as a pair.
The lamps were made by the famous porcelain manufactory in Ćmielów, whose history dates back to 1790. The special boom of the “Ćmielów” Porcelain Factory took place in the first half of the 19th century, when the factory began producing porcelain. Initially, classicist patterns prevailed in the decoration of products, the most famous of the contemporary products are openwork baskets “plaited” from thin porcelain rolls.
In the 1950s and 1960s, the factory in Ćmielów produced the famous innovative porcelain in the form, decoration and production technology. Porcelain produced by the manufacture in Ćmielów has become an icon of Polish design.
