This vintage folk art carved panel is signed in several places by an unknown artist, and presumed to have originated from North America, likely Canada, but possibly the United States, and dates to 1977 and done in a folk art style. The carving is done on possibly a re-clained piece of solid oak door and depicts in relief, and older brother carring his sleeping little brother on his shoulders. This folk art panel is titled: “He ain’t heavy, he’s my brother” on the front in lower case letters and is signed “B. Self” on the bottom. The panel is also artist signed “B. Self” on the back with the date “1977” and a hallmark or insignia. The back uses oak cross supports using Robertson screws, indicating it may be Canadian in origin, and please note it is two and a half inches thick.
