SATURDAY SALE
Commodious bedroom dresser in the form of a chest on chest from the Modern line of Canadian furniture maker, Gibbard of Napanee, and designed by Wesley T. Griffin. Advertised as the ultimate in Gibbard modern furniture from 1956. Known as the Viscount, only 50 were made. Made from mahogany and finished in African red mahogany with spear-like drawer pulls and brass details. Appears to tip a hat to T. H. Robsjohn-Gibbings in its styling. I believe there is a connection between Gibbard and Edmond J. Spence but have so far not found documentation.
