This unique table comprises five elements joined as one. Pre-tensioned glass towers support highly figured English Oak planks connected by rusted steel plates. The table can also be separated into two tables (2 elements, and 3 elements). Each oak plank is ± 139 x 59 cm.
Lane’s work combining and contrasting luminous, translucent glass with rusted steel, has secured his international reputation. Commissioned by the Victoria & Albert Museum, London, to create the balustrade for their glass galleries, his work is also enjoyed in public spaces such as Canary Wharf (monumental glass wave), London, as well as in Hong Kong and the USA, among others.
